Beyond the Classroom

Field Trips

Kids in our drop-off classes have the opportunity to participate in engaging field trips throughout the school year, extending learning beyond the classroom and sparking curiosity in real-world experiences.

Monthly Mom's Day Out

Mom's work hard 24/7! Once a month, we have a mom's day out event. This is a chance for us moms to get together to relax, recharge, and have some fun without the kiddos around.

Location

Classes are held in Star, Idaho.
To protect student privacy, the exact address will be provided upon registration.

Class Size

Our enrichment classes are intentionally kept small, with a class size range of 10–13 students. This flexibility allows us to balance group dynamics, space, and staffing while maintaining a safe, engaging environment where each child can thrive. A minimum of 6 students is required for a class to be held.

Breaks Between Classes

Students attending multiple classes will have time to snack, play, and connect with friends.
Please pack a snack and water bottle for children staying for more than one class.
For students staying all day, don’t forget to send a lunch so they can stay fueled and ready for fun!

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Children may be dropped off no more than 5 minutes before class begins and should be picked up promptly at the end of class.
A short grace period is provided; repeated late pick-ups may result in a small fee.

Attendance & Make-Up Classes

Make-up classes are not offered for absences.

What to Bring

Children should come ready to learn with curiosity, kindness, and excitement to explore!
Please send a water bottle and any additional supplies listed in the class description.

Behavior Policy

At Star STEAM Explorers Homeschool Co-op, we value a safe, respectful, and kind learning environment where all students can thrive. Students are expected to be respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. Bullying, harassment, or unsafe behavior—whether physical or verbal—will not be tolerated, and repeated offenses may result in dismissal from the co-op. To maintain a safe and positive environment, the presence or use of weapons, pornographic or sexually explicit materials, inappropriate or offensive language, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, or gang-related symbols or behavior is strictly prohibited during any co-op activity. Violations of these policies may result in immediate dismissal. The firearms portion of this policy applies specifically to students; parents and legal guardians retain their rights under Idaho state law, and Star STEAM Explorers respects these rights while maintaining safety expectations for all participants.

Safety & Screening

At Star STEAM Explorers, student safety is our top priority. All teachers are fingerprinted and background-checked through the State of Idaho before working with children. You can feel confident knowing your child is learning in a secure, caring environment.

Sick Policy

To help keep our community healthy, families are asked NOT to attend class if a child has a fever, rash, pink eye, colored nasal discharge, diarrhea, vomiting, a wet cough, lice, or any communicable illness.

Parent & Sibling Policy

We encourage all families to attend our Welcome Day offered the week prior to the semester classes beginning. This is a great opportunity to see the learning space, meet instructors, and help your child feel comfortable and excited for the upcoming session.

Once classes begin, we ask that parents limit their time on-site to drop-off and pick-up only to help students build independence and allow teachers to maintain a focused, engaging environment.

While younger siblings are always welcome at drop-off and pick-up, we ask that they do not remain during class hours, as there are no designated activities or supervision available for them.

General Policies

We understand that every family’s situation is unique.
If you ever need to discuss special payment arrangements or scheduling concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
